Our lumber division, then called Double JJ Investments, began in 1998 as a small lumber remanufacturing company. Three employees manned the small aspen pallet board operation. Through Vandermeer (now Marathon) Forest Products, our high quality aspen pallet boards were sold throughout the U.S. as preferred pallet stock to numerous pallet manufacturing companies. In 2002 Double JJ Investments became Aspen Valley Lumber Ltd. portraying the species of lumber we manufactured.

Disaster struck in April 2005 when our business was totally destroyed by fire. After much deliberation and even though the lumber market was taking a decline, we decided to rebuild. Aspen Valley Lumber resumed it’s pallet board manufacturing just 4 months later.

In 2006 we expanded into the mat division (Valley Mats) building rig mats for the oil and gas industries. December 2006 our first rig mat rolled out the door bringing satisfaction to it’s user. All manufacturing is done indoors in a controlled and heated enviroment.  We take pride in producing a high quality mat and building to meet specific customer requirements. Our mats are in use in Canada, USA, Mexico, Siberia, Alaska, Yukon, Australia.

Since that date Valley Mats has continued to construct high quality mats and is ready to design & build any mat that you require. “No job too big or too small”
